Gurcharan Das is a renowned author, commentator, and public intellectual. His latest book, Kama: The Riddle of Desire (2018) is the third in the trilogy on life’s goals, the earlier two bestsellers being India Unbound (2000) and The Difficulty of Being Good (2009). His other publications include a novel, A Fine Family (1990), a collection of plays Three Plays (2011), and a book of essays, The Elephant Paradigm (2002). His India Grows at Night was on the FT’s best books for 2013. He studied philosophy at Harvard University and was CEO, Procter & Gamble India before he became a full-time writer.
