V. Gnanasundaram

V. Gnanasundaram is former Professor-cum-Deputy Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysore. A linguist by profession, he is interested in the study of endangered languages of the indigenous people. He is experienced in the implementation of the CIIL’S experimental bilingual education programmes for tribal children in India, and teaching Tamil to Indian and foreign nationals. Some of his publications are: A Study of Eravalla (a South Dravidian endangered tribal language), Present Great Andamanese (with S. Manoharan), and People’s Linguistic Survey of India Vol 27: Languages of Tamil Nadu (with K. Rangan).
