Umesh Solanki is a writer and activist from Gujarat who has to his credit three collections of poetry, a collection of essays, and two novels, one in verse. He was the editor of the print journal Nirdhar and now edits an online Gujarati Dalit poetry magazine also called Nirdhar. He is a photographer and has made documentary films. He is committed to publishing writing by Dalit and Adivasi writers from Gujarat.
