Sujoy Sarkar

Sujoy Sarkar is a lecturer-cum-Junior Research Officer and also, since March 2016, the Officer-in-charge of the Scheme for Protection & Preservation of Endangered Languages at the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru. He has completed his MPhil on the medium of instruction in primary education for the Toto tribe. He defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Linguistic Human Rights and Language Discrimination: A Critical Study of Language in Education Policy for Tribal Education in India.” His research interests include language issues in primary education in tribal areas, language policy and planning, linguistic human rights, language endangerment and revitalization.
