Astri Ghosh

Astri Ghosh is an actor, writer and translator who translates Ibsen into Hindi. She collaborates with nine other translators in translatingHenrik Ibsen’s 12 contemporary dramas into Arabic (Classical Arabic and Egyptian Arabic), Hindi, Spanish, Persian, Chinese, Japanese and Russian. She has published Samaj ke Stambh(Pillars of Society), Pretchhaya (Ghosts), Gudiyaghar(A Doll’s House) and Janta ka Dushman(An Enemy of the People)  and will publish Hedda Gabler, The Wild Duck, Rosmersholm and Lady from the Sea this year. A former journalist, she writes in Norwegian, Hindi and English. She also does poetry performances and has acted in two films.
