Swathi and Vijay are a husband-wife artist duo. They introduced street art to the city of Hyderabad and livened up streets with graffiti on public walls and buildings. Their works, on themes ranging from the violence in Kashmir to agrarian crisis in India, make us pause even while navigating crazy traffic. The distinctive quality of their work won them awards from the French Embassy, and the Krishnakriti Foundation scholarship (2013). They went to France on a nine-month fellowship to study in the prestigious ENSBA arts school, Paris. They exhibited their works in Japan, Canada, and also at Christie’s, London.
