Sunetra Choudhury

Sunetra Choudhury is the political editor at Hindustan Times. She started her career at the Indian Express and later moved to TV news and joined NDTV. She wrote Braking News (2010) after covering the 2009 election campaign, and her Behind Bars: Prison Tales of India’s Most Famous (2017) was the result of extensive interviews with high-profile inmates. Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer (2019, with Sunil Gupta) is her latest publication. She received the Red Ink Award (2016) and is the 2018 Jefferson Fellow. Most recently, she received the Mary Morgan Hewett Award that recognizes the achievements of women journalists.
