Sumaiya Shaikh

Sumaiya Shaikh is an Australian neuroscientist conducting post-doctoral research at Linköping University Hospital, Sweden. Her academic training is from the School of Medicine, Western Sydney University, Australia, where she completed a PhD in neurophysiology. Her research includes studying aggression towards those where there is an explicit bias or are otherwise not harmful, and explores a neuroscientific, or more broadly, a biological basis to violent extremism in ordinary everyday individuals. She is documenting the research, policy implications and the interviews in her second book Violent Brains of Ordinary Individuals.
