Indu Chinta

Indu Chinta is an environmentalist-turned-preservationist. After her Master’s in Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she worked with policy think-tanks such as The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi and Vasudha Foundation. She has also worked in the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests on the prestigious Rio +20, or the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), and at IIT, Madras. Since 2017, she has immersed herself in the revival of Theyyam, building and strengthen the case for it to be recognized as “intangible cultural heritage” under the UNESCO.
