Harini Nagendra is Professor of Sustainability at Azim Premji University, India. She has conducted research on the interaction between people and nature in forests and cities, for over twenty-five years. In addition to academic writing, she also writes widely for the wider public, in newspapers, magazines and blogs. Her books include Cities and Canopies: Trees in Indian Cities (2019, with Seema Mundoli) and Nature in the City: Bengaluru in the Past, Present, and Future (2016).
