Asiya Zahoor is a poet, linguist, filmmaker, and academic. She has studied Psycholinguistics at Oxford University and Caribbean diasporic literature at the University of Kashmir. She has written books, articles, and poems on issues like politics of place, diaspora, literature of exile, Muslim identity, and psychology of language learning. Her film, “The Stitch” has won awards and has been screened at prestigious festivals. She has curated a website to help document languages and literature of Kashmir. She currently teaches Literature at Baramulla College, Kashmir.
