Arun Shourie is among India’s best known commentators on current and political affairs. He has been a Union Minister, an economist with the World Bank, and Editor of the Indian Express. Widely regarded as the initiator of Investigative Journalism in India, he has written 25 books on a range of topics—constitutional law, modern Indian history, religious fundamentalism, governance in India, and national security. He is a recipient of numerous national and international honours, including the Magsaysay Award, and the Padma Bhushan. He was hailed as one of the 50 “World Press Freedom Heroes” by The International Press Institute, Vienna, and as “Star of Asia” by Business Week.
