Khel Khel Mein


Khel Khel Mein is hosted by Apna Watan, an NGO fostering communal harmony and building an aware society. It will hold its annual poster painting and debate competitions for school children at HLF. Children from various schools participate in this event and give wings to their creative skills in art, poetry, drama, and elocution.

 

Crossfire – Debate competition for school children – Event by Apna Watan

For: Students from classes 8-10

Crossfire provides the challenge to students for on the spot preparation and tempore arrangements on a given theme.

This debate is open to students from classes 8-10. Each school can send a team of two students – one student to speak for the motion and one against the motion. A total of 20 teams from all schools will participate. In case of vacancy, school can send an additional team.

Rang Birang – Poster Painting Competition for school children – Event by Apna Watan

2.00 – 4.00 pm

On the spot poster making on issues such as environment, nation, neighborhood, fraternity, peace will enable children to think creatively and innovatively for building a harmonious society. Theme will be given on the spot and children will have one and a half hours to complete their poster. Stationery will be provided. Students need to get their own paints (water colors only!). Posters will be judged on the spot by renowned artists who will also give tips to students at the end.

All those days of analyzing the clues, wondering if we can solve the mysteries ourselves and getting surprised by the twisted plots and subconsciously, always wanting to be the hero, who is strong, brave and a quick-thinker while getting lost in the world that the author has created for us.

India Reading Olympiad Awards

HLF – Food for Thought Foundation initiative india reading Olympiad saw good participation and the winners will receive awards at HLF 2019.

India reading olympiad  is a platform which enables, encourages, endorses an ecosystem to create active reading spaces and joy for reading and appreciates the efforts towards igniting a reading revolution across 13 categories.

IRO 2019 saw participation 2200 children from 63 schools all over India in Joy of Reading Category; 21 prisoners from jails in Assam send their book reflections and over 50 nominations received in the other categories. A total of 23 winners across 13 categories have been shortlisted by a jury panel comprising of representation from corporate, NGO, author and book lovers community.

Food4Thought Foundation is a not for profit organisation that aims at building an enlightened nation by universalising access to books and creating joy for reading to ignite a reading revolution. The Foundation has opened and operates over 175 Libraries across 21 States and 62 Cities in India, with more than 65000+ books which are tracked on realtime basis across 11 Library Formats ranging from Schools to Communities to Jails to Hospitals to Temples etc.
