Biography

K Rangan

 

K Rangan joined the Central Institute of Indian Languages after obtaining BOL, MA, and PhD degrees from Annamalai and Delhi Universities. He produced a grammar of Balti, and went to MIT as a Visiting Scientist in 1976. His publications include The Proceedings of the 13th All India Conference of Dravidian Linguists (1986), Standardization of Linguistics Technical Terms in Tamil, articles in Tamil on linguistics in the volumes Encyclopaedia, Toward Formulating Formal Phonological Rules of Tolkappiyam ezhuttatikaram, and People’s Linguistic Survey of India (Vol 27). He is a former President of the Linguistic Society of India and Dravidian Linguistics Association.
