Biography

Harsh Mander

Harsh Mander, human rights and peace worker, writer, columnist, researcher and teacher, works with survivors of mass violence, hunger, homeless persons, and street children. He is Director, Centre for Equity Studies, Special Commissioner to the Supreme Court in the Right to Food case, and the founder of the campaign ‘Aman Biradari’. His publications include Unheard Voices (2001), Fear and Forgiveness: The Aftermath of Massacre (2009), Fractured Freedom (2012), Ash in the Belly: India’s Unfinished Battle against Hunger (2012), Looking Away: Inequality, Prejudice and Indifference in New India (2015) and Fatal Accidents of Birth: Stories of Suffering, Oppression and Resistance (2016).
